Harris's Sparrow (Zonotrichia querula), Himmel Park, Pima CountyThis Harris's Sparrow was photographed by Scott Olmstead on 29 December 2013 General notes to the photo editor including why this species is being submitted to AZFO: Casual in Arizona in winter. A large Zonotrichia sparrow, larger than White-crowneds also present for comparison. Upperparts (wings and back) similar to White-crowned. Underparts whitish with dark brown smudgy markings along flanks and breast. Head and face warm tawny color with spotted crown. First-year individuals lack black markings on throat.
