Lapland Longspur (Calcarius lapponicus), Buckeye, Maricopa County

This Lapland Longspur was found by Caleb Strand on 19 and photographed by Caleb on 21 December 2014

Rare but annual migrants and winter visitors, this species will be off the review list at the start of 2015

Rusty greater coverts, dark frame on face, dark breast band, white belly, flank streaking, and long primary projection.
