White-winged Scoter (Melanitta fusca), Lake Pleasant, Maricopa County

This White-winged Scoter was found by Kurt Radamaker on 21 December 2014 and photographed by Chris Rohrer on 29 December 2014

Rare but regular fall migrant and winter visitant in the state, but primarily along the Colorado River.

Large heavy bodied, dark duck with contrasting white secondaries.
