Crescent-chested Warbler (Oreothlypis superciliosa), Granite Basin Lake, Yavapai County

This Crescent-chested Warbler was found by Carl Tomoff on 16 May and was photographed by Carl and by Steve Burk on 17 May 2015

This species is a casual visitor from Mexican montane forest, with 15 prior records in the state, all from southeast Arizona. This singing male was farther north than any prior occurrence of this species.

Unmistakable.  Prominent white supercilium, yellow throat and breast, white semi-circle under eye, and a small but distinct dark chestnut crescent at the lower edge of the throat.
