Hooded Warbler (Setophaga citrina), Cibola NWR, La Paz CountyThis Hooded Warbler was
mist-netted at a Bureau of Reclamation-run MAPS station
and photographed by Chris Dodge on 05 May 2015 Rare transient and summer visitor with most records
in the spring. A former review species, reports had
increased but recently there was a decline in reports.
However this year has seen multiple reports.
The female Hooded Warbler most closely resembles a
female Wilson's Warbler, but has dark lores, an olive
outline to the yellow face suggesting the male's hood,
and large white tail spots which are clearly visible in
this photograph.
