Slate-throated Redstart (Myioborus miniatus), Hunter Canyon, Cochise County
The first possible sighting of this Slate-throated
Redstart was from Rick Romea on 25 July 2015. It was re-found by Glenn Seeholzer 21 August and
confirmed and widely reported by Ronald Beck on 22
August 2015 and photographed by Bettina Arrigoni on 08 September 2015
Casual visitor to southeastern Arizona with an increase
in reports in the past two years. This
distinctive species has slate gray upperparts, black
around the face and throat, red chest and belly,
chestnut cap, white on the outer rectrices and lack of
