Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula), Sweetwater Wetlands, Tucson, Pima County

This Baltimore Oriole was found this year on a Tucson Audubon bird walk on 14 Oct 2015 and photographed by John Williams on 19 February 2016

Presumed to be the same individual that wintered at this location the previous year. Rare migrant with around 20 accepted records and several pending. May be increasing in recent years.

Adult males are easily separated from Bullock's Oriole by solid black head. The orange corners on the tail are also distinctive, whereas Bullock's Oriole has a black-tipped tails. Hybrids usually have an orange supercillium
