Heermann's Gull (Larus heermanni), SaddleBrooke Ranch golf course, Pinal County

This Heermann's Gull was found and photographed by Prudy and Bob Bowers on 10 April 2016

Heermann's Gull is a casual visitor to Arizona from the Gulf of California and occurs nearly year round, but most records are from late fall. Although there are more than 40 records of Heermann's Gull in Arizona, they are notorious for being one-day wonders. Less than 10 records for Pinal County.

Uniform gray-brown plumage with a red based bill makes this species distinctive.
