Berylline Hummingbird (Amazilia beryllina), Beatty's Guest Ranch in Miller Canyon, Cochise County

This Berylline Hummingbird was found by an unknown birder on 15 July 2016 and photographed by Chris Rohrer on 15 July 2016

Nearly annual summer visitor to the canyons of the southeast part of the state. Has nested.

Note rufous or cinnamon wing panels, purple-bronze upper tail (not visible in these photos), and bright green head, throat, & back. Hybrids between this species and Magnificent Hummingbird have been reported but typically show less extensive rufous in the wings.
