Black Skimmer (Rynchops niger), Lower River Road Ponds, Buckeye, Maricopa County

This Black Skimmer was found and photographed by Duane Morse on 15 July 2016 and photographed by Craig Fischer on 15 July 2016

Casual species to Arizona, primarily in summer with ten previously accepted records.

Distinctive in North America, black upperparts and white underparts and a bi colored bill with a longer lower mandible.
