Thick-billed Kingbird (Tyrannus crassirostris), Thorpe Park, Coconino County

This Thick-billed Kingbird was found by Zack Zdinak on 9 November 2016 and  photographed by Anne Pellegrini on 11 November 2016

First county record for Coconino County and only the second for northern Arizona.

This individual is a HY bird in its first basic plumage. The species is distinguished from other Tyrannus species by the heavy bill and, in this plumage, the rufous edging on coverts, flight feathers, and tail.
