This Violet-crowned Hummingbird was found and photographed by Phil Hedrick on 18 June 2017

Violet-crowned Hummingbird is a local breeder at various locations in southeast Arizona. There are few records of this species in Pinal County, although a hybrid Violet-crowned x Broad-billed Hummingbird was documented at Boyce Thompson Arboretum 2006-2009.
