Yellow-green Vireo (Vireo flavoviridis), Tumacacori, Santa Cruz County

This Yellow-green Vireo was found and photographed by Chris Benesh on 05 August 2017

A casual visitor to Arizona with 12 accepted records with a couple more pending. This report falls in with previous records which have occurred between late May and mid August.

Resembling a Red-eyed Vireo but with a pale bill, muted face pattern without dark upper boundary to supercilium, and overall more yellowish tones to the vent extending up the sides of the breast to the auriculars. Song also more clipped, less musical than Red-eyed Vireo, some notes sounding like chirping House Sparrow calls.
