American Dipper (Cinclus mexicanus), Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Pinal CountyThis American Dipper was
found and photographed by Janna Blok on 29 October 2017 Known as a clean mountain-stream breeder, this was at a lower elevation than typical for the species being in the upper Sonoran Desert. This species formely more regular in fall and winter in southeast Arizona and currently is casual to Pinal County with all recent reports coming from Aravaipa Canyon. Plump gray with long
thick legs, short, cocked tail.
