Red-eyed Vireo (Vireo olivaceus), Gilbert Water Ranch, Maricopa County

This Red-eyed Vireo was found by Caleb Strand on 29 October and photographed by Dale Clark on 31 October 2017. A second individual is likely present in a different part of the reserve.

Casual but nearly annual in Arizona.

Gray crown with dark border against white supercilium, dark eyeline, olive back and tail, very long bill for a vireo. The brownish eye suggests a young bird.
