Kentucky Warbler (Geothlypis formosa), Dateland, Yuma County

This Kentucky Warbler was found and photographed by Chris McCreedy on 19 May 2018

A rare migrant in Arizona, more often seen in the spring, with few records in western Arizona.

Distinctive with entirely bright yellow underparts, black below around the eye running down along the edge of the malar (with black on the face and crown more extensive and solidly black on adult males) and a conspicuous yellow supercillium which wraps around the eye.
