Least Grebe (Tachybaptus dominicus), Patagonia Lake State Park, Santa Cruz County

This Least Grebe was found and photographed by Bill Lisowsky on 10 May 2018

A casual straggler to the state, often in ponds near the Mexican border; 23 accepted records and several pending. Possibly a continuing bird as one was found on a different part of the lake in March.

Least Grebe is a small, short-necked grebe with yellow eyes, a thin dark bill, and a gray face, neck, and back.
