Blue-footed Booby (Sula nebouxii), Lake Havasu, Mohave County

This Blue-footed Booby was found and  photographed by Lauren Harter on 12 September 2018 and  photographed by Matthew Grube on 16 September 2018

If accepted by the ABC, this would be the 12th state record. There have been few reports of strays into the southwestern U.S. so far this fall, although in August there was one reported from the Salton Sea and one from the Channel Islands.

Typical booby shape, with long pointed wings and tail, dagger-like bill. White underparts, dusky brownish head and neck, brown back and rump, a brown tail with a white base, and whitish under wing coverts with a dark bar down the middle (along the axis of the wing).
