Mew Gull (Larus canus), Rotary Park, Lake Havasu City, Mohave County

This Mew Gull was found and photographed by David Vander Pluym on 18 November 2018

Casual statewide but increasing in recent years in the lower Colorado River Valley. 26 previously accepted records and one pending.

Slightly smaller than a Ring-billed Gull with a smaller bill. Smudgy brown body plumage, brown tail, and heavily barred upper and undertail coverts also distinguish this from Ring-billed Gull.
