Mew Gull (Larus canus), Lake Havasu, Mohave County

This Mew Gull was found and photographed by Matthew Grube on 20 January 2019 and also photographed by Thomas Benson the same day

Casual statewide but increasing in recent years in the lower Colorado River Valley. 27 previously accepted records and one pending.

Smaller-billed than a Ring-billed Gull. Smudgy brown body plumage, brown tail, and heavily barred undertail coverts also distinguish this from Ring-billed Gull.
