Tropical Parula (Setophaga pitiayumi), lower Florida Canyon, Pima County

This Tropical Parula was found and photographed by David Palmer on 27 August 2019 and photographed by Laurens Halsey on the same date and by Andrew Core on 6 September 2019.

Eight previous state records all between late May and early July. If accepted by the ABC this would be a first fall record for the state. This individual was about 100m above the dam.

Similar to a Northern Parula but shows a blue head with dark lores, lacking white eye arcs and has a yellow malar. More extensively yellow on the underparts.
