Townsend's x Hermit Warbler Hybrid (Setophaga townsendi x occidentalis), Cibola NWR, La Paz County

This hybrid Townsend's x Hermit Warbler was captured during banding operations and photographed by Joe Kahl on 02 May 2019

This is a relatively common hybrid combination. This bird mostly shows features of a Hermit Warbler but with a green back instead of grayish back, yellow on the breast below the black throat and some black streaking on the flanks, all characteristics of Townsend's Warbler.
