Orchard Oriole (Icterus spurius), Meteor Crater RV Park, Coconino County

This Orchard Oriole was found and photographed by Jason Wilder on 11 August 2020

Orchard oriole is a casual visitor to Arizona, with relatively few records in the northern half of the state.

This adult male is unmistakable with its black and chestnut markings. Also notable was the bird's relatively small size in comparison to other oriole species.
