Hooded Warbler (Setophaga citrina), Pinal Mountains--Ferndell Spring, Gila County

This Hooded Warbler was found and photographed by Jim Burns on 21 August 2020 and photographed by David Pearson on 23 August 2020.

Hooded Warbler is a rare transient and summer visitor with most records in the spring. Records have increased in recent years, and this year has seen above average numbers of this species.

Adult male is an unmistakable bright yellow with black hood and bib.
