Red-eyed Vireo (Vireo olivaceus), Lakeside Park, Pima County

This Red-eyed Vireo was photographed by Scott Olmstead on 20 September 2020.

This vireo was fist found by Mark Stevenson on Sep. 18 and was seen by many observers until Sep. 20.

Generally an eastern North American species with lower density breeding populations in the Pacific Northwest; it is a rare to casual migrant in Arizona.

A rather drab vireo: olive above and white below, with a heavy bill, dark crown, white eyebrow, and a conspicuous black line in front of the eye. Noticeably larger than the nearby warblers.
