White-winged Dark-eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis aikeni), Desert View, Grand Canyon South Rim, Coconino County

This White-winged Dark-eyed Junco was photographed by Brian Gatlin on 01 November 2020.

Casual in Arizona, with the last reported in December 2013 at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Large size compared to Oregon juncos. Size and large silver bill separate this from a Slate-colored with wingbars. Extensive white in the tail is another feature of White-winged.
