Bobolink (Dolichonyx oryzivorus), Hidden Cove Golf Course, Navajo County

This Bobolink was discovered by Chuck LaRue on 18 May 2021 and photographed by Chris McCreedy on the same day.

Bobolink is a casual fall migrant to Arizona, with most individuals found being juveniles. Once a rare but regular fall migrant and occasional breeder in eastern Arizona, Bobolink in recent years has become very rare and was reinstated to the review list in 2005.

Breeding plumage male is a unique combination of black underparts with white on the upperparts.
