Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula), Reid Park, Tucson, Pima County

This Baltimore Oriole was photographed by Scott Olmstead on 03 June 2022.

Rare migrant through the state, with just 1-5 individuals reported in AZ most years.

Breeds east of the Rocky Mountains. Most of the population winters in Central America.

Bright orange body with full black hood, fully orange rectrices, dark wings, white tips to greater coverts (lower wing bar), and orange lesser and median coverts (upper wing bar). Retained brownish-black remiges and primary coverts indicate this is a SY male.
