Fan-tailed Warbler (Basileuterus lachrymosa), Catalina Regional Park, Pima County

This Fan-tailed Warbler was photographed by Gary Rosenberg on 14 November 2022

First found the day before. Found and photographed this morning by Carol Hippenmeyer.

This will represent the 13th Arizona record, and a first record for Pima County. Amazingly, this is the second Fan-tailed Warbler in the state in as many days! Unprecedented!

Note the slate gray upperparts, bright yellow-orange underparts, bright white eye-arcs, white loral spot, and bright yellow coronal stripe bordered by black on the crown. Tail with white tips to outer tail feathers; bird would occasionally spread the tail.
