Northern Jacana (Jacana spinosa), Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, Maricopa County

A juvenile Northern Jacana was discovered on Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Indian reservation (permit required) during the Salt-Verde CBC. Unfortunately, due to the sensitive issue about visitation to this site, the bird was not made public.

This will represent a 7th Arizona record, and the third of a juvenile-plumaged bird in Arizona and is a first Maricopa County record.
