Leucistic House Finch (Carpodacus mexicanus), Cave Creek Recreation Area, Maricopa County

This partially leucistic House Finch was reported by Amy Ford on 19 December 2008 coming to feeders in Cave Creek Regional Park.  The location is in the Park campground, behind site number 9, at the public bird feeding and viewing station. To see the bird, go to the entry station (at the end of 32nd St., north of Carefree Hwy), and ask for directions to the bird viewing area (site 9) in the campground. Park has a $6.00 per vehicle entry fee.  The bird was photographed by Pierre Deviche on 21 December 2008.
