Rose-breasted Grosbeak (Pheuticus ludovicianus), George Walker House, Paradise, Cochise County

This adult female Rose-breasted Grosbeak was first seen at the feeders at the George Walker House on 11 June 2008.  It was photographed by Jackie Lewis on 17 June 2008.  Rose-breasted Grosbeak is a rare but regular transient in SE Arizona usually occurring in riparian and oak woodland.

In this plumage, the fine streaks all the way across the whitish breast and the pink bill separate this bird from female Black-headed Grosbeak which would have a buffier breast with less streaking and a bicolored, grayish bill.
