Rose-breasted Grosbeak (Pheuticus ludovicianus), Anza Trail near Tubac Golf Course, Santa Cruz County

This adult male Rose-breasted Grosbeak was discovered and photographed by Dale Clark on 13 June 2008.  It was found singing between the Tubac Golf Course and the Santa Cruz River on the morning of June 13, 2008. It was close to the Anza trail about 200 yards south of the spot on the golf course that hosted the Baltimore Oriole.

Rose-breasted Grosbeak is a rare but regular transient in SE Arizona usually occurring in riparian and oak woodland.  It is unmistakable in this plumage.
