Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus), River Road Ponds, Maricopa County
This gull was identified by Bill Grossi as a probable first winter Lesser Black-backed Gull at the Lower River Road ponds in Palo Verde, Maricopa County, Arizona on 10 December 2006. There are no prior records of this species for Arizona. Pending acceptance by the Arizona Bird Committee, this would constitute the first state record. Photos by Pierre Deviche.
