Yellow Grosbeak (Pheucticus chrysopeplus), Huachuca Mountains, Cochise County

Yellow Grosbeak is a less-than-annual summer visitor to southeastern Arizona from Mexico with only about 15 records in total. Like this bird, most of the previous records were found in riparian or oak woodland habitats at mid-elevations, from Cave Creek Canyon west to the Pajaritos Mountains. Most records are from June, but they extend from one in May on to mid-August.
